Matthew L. Kees is a renowned professional photographer, art teacher and sculptor. His interest in photography began when he first saw the works of Ansel Adams and Eliot Porter. Matthew began teaching darkroom photography at a young age and has been training both beginners and professionals for over 20 years. He opened his school, MLKstudios, in Hollywood a few years after moving there to study film, camera and lighting at the American Film Institute and now teaches hundreds of students around the globe in his online course as well as his private lessons in Hollywood.

Matthew's photographs have been displayed in solo and group exhibitions in the United States and Europe. In private collections they hang next to Adams, Porter and Weston. His influences are varied, but you may notice similarities to Walker Evans, Mary Ellen Mark, Minor White, Paul Strand and even WeeGee. MLKstudio's photographs are sought after by serious photographic collectors around the world, and are printed on the finest archival materials to museum standards.
